Mindy was drawn to the beautiful Pacific Northwest from her beloved Chicago and opened her studio in 2016.  Celebrating 26 years of experience as a Massage Therapist, along with 30 plus years of dancing professionally, she is able to offer extremely intuitive and effective bodywork rooted in Myofascial Therapy.  Well versed in Swedish, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point, Sports Massage, Table Thai and Structural Integration, her forte is connectivity. An emphasis on your specific injuries, pain or concerns will be integrated thoroughly to provide you with a sense of completeness. Mindy graduated from Western Michigan University (Dance),  Chicago School of Massage Therapy, 200 Hour YTT at Sellwood Yoga, 300 Hour YTT with Gabriel Halpern of the Iyengar Tradition, Dharma Yoga LOAY 50 Hour YTT and is currently studying Vedic Astrology and Quantum Human Design.  Dedicating her life to moving as efficiently and comfortably as possible, she desires everyone to have the opportunity to experience living optimally in their body. Struggling for years with a hamstring injury, it was receiving massage therapy that finally facilitated the changes that were necessary to heal and move beyond the pain and restrictions. This life altering experience was the catalyst for her choosing the path of a massage therapist.

Testimonials

Mindy Meyers is my preferred therapist for chronic shoulder and neck issues. When I was in medical school and studying for my board exam many hours per day, I worked with her regularly to address the chronic neck/shoulder strain that came along with hitting the books so hard. After working with her, I was able to get through my entire eight hour exam day without any distractions from neck or shoulder pain. Mindy was truly essential to my success on that important exam, and I do not think I would have trusted any other therapist with this work. Speaking as a physician and an anatomist, I can state that Mindy’s knowledge of anatomy is extensive. This knowledge is immediately tangible to me as a client – her hands have a wisdom that you can feel. I would enthusiastically recommend her to any of my patients with acute or chronic musculoskeletal issues.

After my first massage with Mindy, she became my go-to therapist in Chicago. Her strength, intuition, and calm, consistent attention never flagged in all of my visits over many years. She has a generosity of spirit, a natural sincerity, and a holistic understanding of health that create a warm welcome, a deeply effective session, and sometimes a kind consultation about the many pieces of life. Mindy has an excellent practice that is rooted in real caring. I recommend her to everyone.

I have had massage for both relaxation and medical reasons over the years and across various cities and countries, and Mindy is truly the best massage therapist I have ever experienced. I do not take massage lightly (literally and figuratively!), so that is a strong statement. But I really mean it. Her natural ability and immense strength to work the entire body, both focusing on areas of need that she feels or addresses from a request and also ensuring no key area of the body is untouched or neglected, her touch is a magical one. I like firm massage and she delivers on that each time, although can also adapt as needed — she listens and customizes your session each time. Whenever my body feels “broken”, there is only one person I want to fix it. Mindy Meyers. And she does, every time, year after year. She also happens to be a beautiful person with the kindest soul you’ll ever encounter, so a session with her makes you feel refreshed all around. So much therapy packed into an hour, it’s a steal!

I have undergone several surgeries – including a mastectomy and several reconstruction surgeries. In the midst of all this, none of the surgeons ever talked to me about massages to keep my scars soft & flexible. Instead, over time, the scars tightened, causing me pain and making it nearly impossible to move at times. Mindy worked on my scars – freeing and loosening them, allowing me to move consistently & giving me relief from pain. I am grateful to Mindy for her help & compassion. She is truly a gift.

Mindy is a wonderful massage therapist who took the time and focus to understand my physical (and emotional) challenges and then crafted a massage experience to meet my needs. Her kind, non-judgmental demeanor and professionalism are exceptional, and I always left the sessions feeling relaxed, recharged and grateful. I’ll continue to travel to the other side of the city for her services as they are a welcome departure from the “out of the box” experience I’ve received at spas in my neighborhood. Thank you Mindy!

Mindy Meyers massage treatments are difficult to describe in words as one becomes self forgetful in the work. As a Massage and Yoga educator, I have received hundreds of massages over the years and Mindy’s work always stands out as exceptionally special. Chicago misses her and Portland is lucky to have her.

Mindy is the kind of massage therapist who not only reads but learns your body.  Bringing the physical empathetic understanding of a dancer to her work, Mindy’s deep listening results in care that is lasting.  She approaches massage like the physical practice that it is, breathing with you through the tough spots, coaching you through guided movement patterns, and giving you real solutions to daily pain management.

You know how some massage therapists are great technicians, but fall short on the bedside manner/spiritual element? And then there are those who have the right vibe, but lack the physical strength and ability to really dig deep (pun intended). The beauty of Mindy is that she combines expert technical skill with a caring personal touch. Her approach is fully holistic. At the end of a session, you are revived in both body & soul.

Mindy is amazing! I started working with Mindy over 10 years ago based on a recommendation from a trusted friend, who knows I’m very picky about massages. I’ve had too many massages go awry, as many people equate a deep tissue massage to pushing hard all over my body, resulting in bruises. Mindy’s knowledge of the body and expertise in addressing specific issues is unparalleled. She couples the physical aspect with a great approach to the mental state of mind, which results in a state of bliss and relaxation. I have not found another massage that comes close to a Mindy experience.
